A family of four could face fines of up to £5,000, if they test positive on day eight of hotel quarantine.
On Monday, the Government introduced hotel quarantine for arrivals from 33 ‘red-listed’ countries, costing £1,750 at the traveller’s expense.
In addition, the Government revealed this week that if an individual tests positive for Covid-19 they will need to pay £152 extra per day to complete ten days of isolation after the positive result.
This means that if you test positive on day eight of hotel quarantine, it will cost an additional £1,216 to complete a further ten days in isolation. For a family of four, this will amount to £4,864.
