Mountain West adds two conference contests to CSU basketball’s slate – The Fort Morgan Times

The Mountain West Conference added a pair of contests to the Colorado State men’s basketball team’s schedule when announcing its revised league slates on Tuesday.

Coach Niko Medved’s squad will host the struggling New Mexico Lobos on March 3 (time to be announced) before wrapping up the regular season in Reno with a 7 p.m MT tip-off at Nevada on March 5.

Initially, the Rams were set to host UNM at Moby Arena for a two-game series Feb. 9-11 and travel to UNR for a double-header Feb. 20-22. However, COVID-19 issues inside both opponents’ locker rooms forced indefinite postponements prior to the Mountain West’s rescheduling decision on Tuesday.

Before facing the Lobos and Wolf Pack in a matter of 72 hours, CSU will welcome Air Force to Fort Collins for its final home series of the campaign on Feb. 27 and March 1.

With four games remaining before the MW tournament commences on March 10, the green and gold find themselves in the thick of the NCAA Tournament bubble discussion.

Meanwhile, the Rams are also eying a regular-season conference title amid 2020-2021’s conclusive stretch. Currently, CSU sits 1.5 games behind league-leading Boise State in a second-place tie with San Diego State.
