COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Police Department announced just after 5 p.m. on Monday that the Bartholomew County travel status is now at the “Red” Warning Level. This restricts travel to emergency travel only.
Several county roads are in very bad shape and visibility is poor. The BartholomewCcounty Commissioners have signed a Disaster Emergency Declaration for Travel Restriction this is in effect from now until noon on Tuesday, February 16.
The “Red” Warning Level is the highest level of Travel Advisory. If you are not an emergency worker, you are required to stay off of the roads.
In addition to Bartholomew County, Decatur, Brown, and Monroe Counties have been designated as having the “Red” Warning Level for travel.
