Travel technology provider Accelya has hired Emirates executive Bill Cavendish to oversee its strategy for New Distribution Capability adoption and commercial relationships with airlines.
Cavendish joins Accelya as principal of global business development, a role in which he will work with airlines to align their growth strategies with Accelya’s offerings as well as increase revenue and distribution control via NDC. He previously was vice president of distribution strategy at Emirates, where he developed the carrier’s NDC-enabled direct-connect platform, Emirates Gateway. Cavendish also formerly worked at SITA and Galileo and was head of IT at Hogg Robinson Business Travel International.
The Barcelona-based Accelya has more than 250 airline customers for which it offers technology tools for managing business from offer to settlement, including Farelogix technology, which it acquired last year.
